Manaslu Himal region is a restricted area because of its location being close to Tibetan border. The area has been open to tourism only in 1991 and allows limited number of people to trek with special permits. Nepalese of Tibet origin inhabit in small villages around the Manaslu and lead traditional lifestyles. They raise Yaks, sheep, and horses, and practice limited farming such as potatoes, barley, buckwheat, radish and mustered greens. Also, they continue to trade with Tibet. Although the inhabitants here are given Nepalese citizenship, their main cultural practice is Tibetan in every aspect of the life they live. It is another off the beaten path trekking route filled with beautiful meadows, lush forests, and snowcapped mountain scenery. Moreover, the nature and culture in this part of the world is pure and unspoiled where you can breath fresh air and be greeted by charming smiles. This trek circles the majestic Manaslu, Himalchuli and Bouddha massif that is adventurous and exciting, and joins the Annapurna Circle trek route at Bagarchhap. From here, we continue our trek via Manang and Thorung La around the Annapurnas.
